Economic evaluations of health system strengthening activities in low-income and middle-income country settings: a methodological systematic review

Health system strengthening (HSS) is an important step towards increasing the capacity and quality of care in low-income and middle-income countries. Economic evaluation of HSS activities can inform decisions about how HSS should be balanced with investments in disease-targeting interventions but is challenging to perform. Our systematic review summarises and analyses the methodological choices that researchers have used to address the challenges of conducting economic evaluation on HSS activities.
